DCB & Bertram PoE Injector Examples

Most Bertram & DCB customers will have some variation of the type of PoE injector that is on the right side above. DCB will often cover the label for the port. In that case the PoE port is the one that is red and the data port (going to the router) will be blue. Bertram Fiber customers will also have some version of the Poe Injector on the right side.

If the customer has a PTP system from Bertram then they may have a white Ubiquiti PoE injector at the house instead (see the XL section below for an example). If a DCB customer has more then 1 PoE injector they may have an old AirRouter HP. See that section of the Knowledge Base for information on Replacing an AirRouter HP and how this would look.

If the customer is an older install they may have a Motorola PoE injector, shown above on the left side. This type of PoE injector just has a short flat cable coming out of the injector that directly plugs into the WAN port on their router. The cable coming in from outside plugs into the port that says “To Radio” and the flat cable saying “To Computer” plugs into the WAN port on their router. The light for this style of PoE injector is on the wall wart itself where it plugs into the electrical outlet. When customers are unable to find their PoE injector or say they don’t have one this is the one they most commonly have.

XL PoE Injector Examples

Most XL customers will have the white Ubiquiti (UBNT) PoE injector shown on the left side. Some will have the black version of the UBNT PoE in the middle. On the handful of sites that have Cambium APs they will have some version of the Cambium PoE injector on the right side.

Optic Loop PoE Injector Examples

Optic Loop fixed wireless customers should have some version of the Ubiquiti PoE injector shown above.

Optic Loop fiber customers will have some version of a Ubiquiti PoE injector shown above. If they are in a MDU where multiple customers are fed by the same NID, then only 1 customer in the building will have a PoE injector. For this style of PoE the cable from outside goes into the PoE port, the ethernet cable on the other side will plug into the WAN port on their router and the other cable will run to the outlet. There is a variation of this PoE injector that is all white as well.
